Prom season is here, which means if you have a son or daughter somewhere between the ages of 15 and 18 – they are dragging you around shopping. To be fair, moms, we’re sure you’re the one pushing your once little boys to try on the perfect tux. But what about that little one who may make these shopping trips that much more difficult? Let’s take a look at how you can involve even your little toddler in this season’s prom shopping!
There really isn’t anything more fun than for a parent than prom shopping for the first time. Now, don’t quote me on this, I just know my mom loved helping me pick out a dress, find those gorgeous accessories, and track down those Cinderella heels that would just make me look like a princess for a night! As the youngest of four, it wasn’t difficult to do. But we all know that’s not always the case. Most parents will have another child at home. They may be a little boy or girl…. Or maybe even a toddler. The question we ask, is why not let them join in on the shopping fun?
For instance, there is nothing a little boy will love more than matching his older brother! It will make him feel like such a big boy that he gets to dress just like Johnny… don’t you think? When you take the time to look at the little tuxedos that go with the older ones, you’ll be able to find the right fit. Black, blue, brown, gold, green, ivory, orange, pink, purple, red, silver, white, and yellow. Is there a color you don’t see? Even more exciting for your adorable little one, he will get to pick his very favorite color!
You may wonder what the point is… why would I want to spend more money than I’m already spending during prom season? Well, let’s think about it…. who knows when your tiny little one will need a tux? Can you ever predict when a wedding is coming up? You’ll be ready for the occasion! Even more so, you can have some fun with this classic outfit choice!
How, you may ask?
- This shopping trip, while at times, can be exhausting…. you can make it fun! A family event, one might say. To see your children bonding, smiling, and laughing with one another is free of cost; it’s priceless!
- What about the night of prom? It’s statistically a night where parents sit up worrying about what their teenager is doing. Are they drinking from the fun cool-aid? Are they making the mistakes I made at my own prom? Are they having their heart broken? Or worse…. It’s enough to drive any parent crazy! So, take your mind away from it all, and throw your little one their very own prom! How adorable! Little Timmy looks like a big man in his tuxedo! You can dance the night away with him, or if you really want to go all out – tell your other mom friends. Your little one can have their very own prom in their living room.
It will certainly be a night to remember for EVERYONE!
